Emilio Pucci Brings Youth to the Table With Massimo GiorgettiThe magical world of fashion designer musical chairs continues as Massimo Giorgetti of MSGM has been announced as Emilio Pucci’s latest new creative director. The 38-year-old designer initially studied accounting and his fashion industry experience begun in retail when he was a sales clerk at a boutique in Rimini.
Giorgetti was a DJ in the past and has said he loves to mix and match “the great tradition with a sense of detachment and revolution of the new millennium.” He also cited a few inspirations on the MSGM page such as Yves Saint Laurent, Coco Chanel, and Walter Albini.
MSGM was founded by Giorgetti in 2009 with a partnership with the Paoloni group and quickly gained traction, and is now stocked in 600 retail stores worldwide.
Pucci has issued a press release expressing the fashion house’s history of epitomizing “a lifestyle that expresses freedom, boldness, youth . . . luxury and sophistication with humor and innovation”, which fits perfectly alongside Giorgetti’s lifestyle and thought processes.
Giorgetti will replace Peter Dundas, who recently left Emilio Pucci to design for competitor Roberto Cavalli.
