Stockholm Fashion Week is halfway through and the winner for this year’s H&M Design Award has been announced. Ximon Lee, originally from Hong Kong, took the award home as the first ever winner for a menswear line. “The H&M Design Award means so much to me at the beginning of my career––I cannot imagine how I’d start my own label without it,” Lee told reporters.

The 24-year-old designer went to school at Parsons and continues to reside in the city. His architectural design that sits away from the body has been praised by Tommy Ton (street style photographer), Lucinda Chambers (British Vogue), and Lily Allen (musician). In a surprising twist, at the end of his runway show, a single woman walked the catwalk. Lee said, “My collection was designed as menswear, but I’m excited to see it also worn by women.”
