New Fashion Sectors in China & The Pradasphere
'Affordable Luxury' in China
Chinese shoppers are embracing ‘affordable luxury’ goods, with American brands such as Coach, Michael Kors and Kate Spade rising to the top the list of the most coveted and purchased amongst fashion savvy Chinese consumers. The rise of this sector comes from the development of the Chinese middle class spending power alongside a reaction to luxury brands like Louis Vuitton and Prada combating slow growth through price hikes.
Italian luxury brand Prada has announced the opening of an exhibition that will take over the fourth floor of iconic department stores Harrods in London. The show The Pradasphere will be a comprehensive exploration of the Italian fashion behemoths activities from fashion and accessories through to architecture, cinema and more. Apart from the carefully curated exploration of Prada’s works the show will also feature a Pradasphere cafe and a pop up store, which will offer items exclusively available at the show.
